Reaction by UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov after he was suspended for nine months and fined
$500,000 Tuesday by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his role in the UFC 229 brawl. Conor McGregor was suspended for six months and fined $50,000. The suspensions are retroactive to the Oct. 6 fight card; Nurmagomedov also was fined
$500,000 and McGregor $50,000. Nurmagomedov’s suspension could be reduced up to three months if he delivers to the commission a PSA on anti-bullying. He set off the wild UFC
229 scene by leaping out of the cage after his fourth-round submission victory in an attack on McGregor cornerman Dillon Danis, setting off clashes inside and outside of the octagon.
