Daring looks brighten Grammys red carpet
Sunday’s Grammys red carpet, like the year’s musical offerings, had hits and misses.
Celebrities used the less-stuffy carpet as a chance to show off their personal style in more daring and flashy looks.
Here are our favorite looks of the night.
Lady Gaga
The “Star” looked fab in a strapless Celine by Hedi Slimane metallic dress with a sculpted accent and high slit. She paired her dress with coordinating platinum baubles by Tiffany & Co. Her princess-cut earrings included more than 10 total carats ($580,000), and her necklace, more than 91 total carats, took more than one year to make.
Camila Cabello Alicia Keys Miley Cyrus
The newlywed suited up for the awards show in a two-piece Mugler look: an over-sized, chest-baring jacket and cropped, flared pants.
Ashlee Simpson Ross
Ashlee Simpson Ross brought glitz to the Grammys in a sparkle-forward Georges Chakra ensemble embellished with feathers. Her transparent pants also showed some skin.
Dua Lipa
Similarly, Dua Lipa shined in silver. Her strapless Versace gown mixed textures of silky gray fabric and gleaming stones, which gave her Bvlgari bling some competition. Lipa’s necklace, which also featured emeralds, and her rings totaled more than 100 carats of diamonds.
(Havana) ooh-na-na! The “Consequences” singer looked pretty in flamingo pink. Her bedazzled, full-length gown by Armani Prive had long sleeves. She swept her dark locks in a low pony, which grazed her exposed back and showed off her Harry Winston earrings.
We can’t help “Fallin’ ” for Alicia Key’s Valentine’s Day-ready Armani look complete with Bvlgari jewels. The cherry gown hugged the singer/ songwriter’s figure perfectly.
Alessia Cara
No “Growing Pains” in terms of style on the carpet for 22-year-old Cara. Her black Self-Portrait dress with lattice lace paired with a red lip is a timeless look that was still fun and age-appropriate. Her Nicholas Kirkwood platform heels sealed the deal.
Kacey Musgraves
“Follow Your Arrow” seems like good advice if it pointed Musgraves to this drop-waist Valentino gown. The soft blush color complemented her complexion, and the bright red sash served as the perfect pop of color.
