Al-Shabab says it executed 4 accused spies in Somalia
Somalia’s al-Shabab Islamic extremist group said it executed four men accused of spying for the British, Djibouti and Somali intelligence agencies.
Al-Shabab announced the killings on its Andalus radio station Sunday, saying they were carried out by a firing squad in a public square in Kamsuma, a town in the Lower Jubba region.
A spokesman said the group’s spate of attacks on hotels in the capital, Mogadishu, have been part of its drive against Somali intelligence agents and other government officials staying at the hotels.
