3 American soldiers, 1 US contractor killed in Afghanistan

Three U.S. service members and a contractor were killed in a roadside bombing near the main American air base in Afghanistan.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The U.S. and NATO Resolute Support mission said the four Americans were killed Monday near Bagram Air Base, north of Kabul. The statement says three American soldiers were wounded and receiving medical care.

The names of the service members killed in action were being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin.
