Trump welcomes Egypt’s president to White House

President Donald Trump said trade and military issues would top the agenda as he welcomed Egyptian President Abdel-Fatah el-Sissi.

Trump did not mention human rights as a topic for discussion despite concerns from some advocacy groups that Egypt stifles dissent.

Trump praised Egypt’s efforts to confront terrorism, saying, “A lot of progress has been made in a lot of different ways in terms of terrorism.”
