Venezuela’s UN ambassador says US aiming for invasion

Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations said “the ground is being laid for an invasion” of his country by the Trump administration.

Samuel Moncada told the U.N. Security Council, “We must stop this war of Donald Trump.” He said the United States aims to strangle Venezuela’s economy to provoke “a social implosion that they can then use as a pretext for foreign military intervention.”
