Trump vetoes attempt to cut off military aid to Saudi Arabia

President Donald Trump vetoed a congressional resolution to end U.S. military assistance in Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen.

The veto is the second of Trump’s presidency. It was expected, and Congress lacks the votes to override it.

Trump called the resolution “an unnecessary, dangerous attempt to weaken my constitutional authorities.” He said it would have endangered the lives of American citizens and service members.
