WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – One hundred and twenty names of Catholic clergy members accused of child abuse or possession of child pornography were released Friday by the Archdiocese of New York.

The list includes 53 men who have been found by the archdiocese to be “credibly accused” and 58 who didn’t meet the archdiocese’s “credibly accused” criteria but their victims were considered eligible for compensation, according to the archdiocese website.

None is in active ministry. Some were defrocked, and others have died.

The release follows more than 120 such disclosures from other dioceses around the country as the church reckons with demands for transparency about sex abuse by clergy.
