HIGHLIGHT: VIRGINIA
Croaker: Howard Hankins was disappointed when he realized one of the presidential busts was missing from the collection on his farm, the Richmond TimesDispatch reports. The crumbling, oversized busts of 42 presidents – and a much smaller bust of Barack Obama – are all that remains of Presidents Park near Williamsburg. The site closed in 2010, and Hankins, who helped build it, offered to take the 18- to 20-foot heads to his farm. He realized after a recent tour that the 2-foot-tall bust of Obama was missing. After a public appeal, a mysterious caller arranged to return it. “There is hope for people in this country,” Hankins says.
