Balkans on high alert as rivers flood homes in Bosnia, Croatia
Overflowing rivers in Bosnia and Croatia flooded dozens of homes and roads, putting the Balkans on high alert and raising fears of a repeat of flooding in 2014 that killed dozens of people and submerged large areas of the region.
Several communities in northern and central Bosnia introduced emergency measures Tuesday, urging residents living close to rivers to evacuate their homes. Some schools canceled classes, and electricity and water supplies were disrupted.
