Women dominate the 2019 Americana Music Honors & Awards nominations. Lori McKenna tops the nomination list, earning three nods. Unlike the CMA or ACM awards, which received backlash for failing to nominate a female act for either show’s Entertainer of the Year, the Americana Honors & Awards selected all women for Artist of the Year: Brandi Carlile, Kacey Musgraves, Rhiannon Giddens and Mavis Staples.
