Criticism of Trump on Iran unwarranted

I find it extremely rich that after the foreign-policy failures of the previous Democratic administration there would be any criticism of President Donald Trump by Sen. Chris Murphy or Rep. Jim Himes, both Democrats (“Trump is edging toward a disastrous war with Iran. Stop the brinkmanship”). The previous administration both emboldened and enabled Iran.

The Iran deal and the delivery of $1.7 billion did not stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. It put Iran on a timeline to build nuclear weapons of mass destruction. Iran is a destabilizing worldwide threat, as well as a direct threat to Israeli and U.S. interests.

Appeasement and acquiescence has never garnered the respect of adversaries, nor has it ever been a successful or effective foreign policy.
