Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, announcing that Yoenis Cespedes broke his ankle during an accident at his ranch. The accident occurred in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and resulted in multiple fractures in one of his ankles. Cespedes had surgery on both heels in 2018, and he was back in the Mets clubhouse last month rehabbing. The 33-year-old is in the third season of a fouryear, $110 million contract.
