Bryant’s legacy surpassed basketball

Sunday’s news about Kobe Bryant and his daughter passing away in a helicopter crash quickly replaced the headlines about the coronavirus and President Donald Trump’s impeachment. His life meant more than those stories. Rest in peace Kobe Bryant. You were a lot more than a guy with a ball.

It should not have taken a tragic helicopter crash, killing NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others, for the public to realize just how deadly and dangerous helicopters can be.

Let us hope that Bryant’s death will not be in vain, and that people will stay away from using helicopters as a means of transportation.
