JAPAN’S ECONOMY SHRINKS AMID GLOBAL PANDEMIC

Japanese stocks sank while other markets and U.S. futures gained Monday after Japan reported a record contractio­n amid the pandemic. The Nikkei 225 in Tokyo fell 0.8% to 23,096.75 after data showed the economy shrank 27.8% from a year earlier in the period ending in June.
