Jazz center Gobert wins defensive player award

By winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, Jazz center Rudy Gobert became the fourth player to win it at least three times. He led the NBA in defensive rebounds per game (10.1), total defensive rebounds (720) and total blocked shots (190) and ranked second in blocked shots per game (2.70). Gobert received 84 first-place votes and had 464 points, with 76ers guard Ben Simmons (287) second and Warriors forward Draymond Green third (76 points).
