Briana Davis

College freshman Age: 19

The family of Briana Davis, 19, was joined by hundreds of mourners in a memorial ceremony in Detroit in August 2020.

Davis was a freshman at Jackson Community College who loved to smile, listen to music, hang with friends, shop, FaceTime people, style hair, cook and play on her phone.

Davis was the second-oldest of nine siblings and was known for her positive attitude, huge heart and caring soul.

She died May 7, 2020, at St. John Hospital because of COVID-19 complications.

When Davis returned home from college, she started feeling sick. She spent nearly six weeks in the hospital, where she communicated with family and friends by video because visitors were not allowed.

“Auntie, do you think I’m going to be OK?” were the last words Davis said via a FaceTime call with her aunt Alshirie Davis.
