Roy Edwards, a state representative, died Nov. 2, 2020, after being hospitalized for more than a week.

“My mom took him to the emergency room, where he was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia and transported to the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper,” Mitch Edwards said at his father’s memorial service.

Mitch described his father as a religious and humorous man.

Roy served on the local city council, the county commission and later in the state Legislature.

He was a father to three children and known as “Grandpa” to six.

Mitch said his father spent his little free time repairing tires and equipment on his farm in northeast Wyoming.

“When he wasn’t trying to teach them how to fix tires, raise bees and harvest honey or blow leaves off the roof, they would sit in his favorite chair and watch Looney Tunes and eat popcorn,” Mitch said during the service.
