Astros beat Phillies to win World Series

-

The Houston Astros captured their second World Series title since 2017, defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game 6 on Saturday. Yordan Alvarez crushed a 450-foot home run in the sixth inning, launching the crowd of 42,958 into a frenzy and giving Houston the lead for good. The Astros’ first World Series championship, in 2017, was marred by an electronic signstealing scandal. “I don’t know what it does to change peoples’ opinions,” starting pitcher Lance McCullers said after Saturday’s game. “Just know that this locker room of guys has done it the right way. We’ve truly earned this. And we’re the World Series champions.”
