University of Virginia mourns football players, cancels game
The University of Virginia football team canceled Saturday’s final home game of the season in the aftermath of Sunday’s fatal shooting of three team members. Juniors D’Sean Perry, Lavel Davis Jr. and Devin Chandler were part of a group that returned from a field trip when authorities say the suspect, a former team member, shot the players. Two other players were injured. A candlelight vigil and prayer service were held on campus, and people left flowers and notes at the gates of the football stadium.
