Macy’s is set­ting the record straight about artists lip-sync­ing dur­ing Thurs­day’s Thanks­giv­ing Day Pa­rade tele­cast. The de­part­ment store is­sued an apol­ogy via its of­fi­cial Twit­ter ac­count. “Dur­ing to­day’s NBC broad­cast of the #Ma­cysPa­rade sev­eral record­ing artists ex­pe­ri­enced tech­ni­cal dif­fi­cul­ties that neg­a­tively im­pacted their per­for­mance,” the re­tailer’s tweet read. “We apol­o­gize and want fans to know these is­sues were out of the artist’s con­trol.” The state­ment fol­lowed a tweet from John Leg­end de­fend­ing fel­low per­former Rita Ora, who was called out for vis­i­bly lip-sync­ing.
