Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meets every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at the Fellowship Cor-ner, 320 Second Ave. SE, Valley City. Monday and Saturday meetings are at 8 p.m., Tuesday meetings are at 6 p.m., Wednesday meetings are at noon and Friday meetings are at noon. The last Saturday of the month 8 p.m. meetings is open speakers meetings — for all to attend, not just alcoholics.

Valley City Kiwanis Club meets every Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. at the Valley City Town and Country Club.

Congregate Meals are served at the Barnes County Senior Center each day with the exception of legal holidays. Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, noon on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Anyone age 60 or over is welcome. Reserve meals by calling 701845-4300.

Grief Journeys for Adults Support Group: Hospice of the Red River Valley offers a free ongoing grief support group for adults 18 years and older who have experience­d a loss through death in Valley City. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Hospice of the Red River Valley office located at 1240 W. Main Street in Valley City. The group is free and open to the public.

Barnes County Commission meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Barnes County Courthouse.

Barnes County Social Services meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. at the Barnes County Courthouse, in the Commission­er’s room, on the second floor. The meeting is open to the public.

Valley City City Commission meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at City Hall. The finance meeting is held the first Tuesday of the month prior to the regular meeting.
