There’s still time to register for the Boys and Girls Hi-Liner K- 6 Elementary After School Activity Program’s basketball. Made possible through the partnership between VCPS and Barnes On The Move Project Grant, the After School Activity Program helps increase elementary students’ physical activity and thereby decreasing childhood obesity. This winter, the free boys and girls basketball portion of the program is being offered, with registration due December 18th.

Pre-Registered students will ride the bus from the elementary

school to the HAC after school on Wednesdays (starting Jan. 8th and continuing through Feb. 12th), meeting high school coaches and athletes to develop their basketball skills and, most importantly, get moving while having fun.

After their hour of play, the students will be ready for pick-up at 4:30 p.m. at the HAC. Because of the grant funding, the busing and activities are provided at no cost to the participant. All parents have to do is pre-register by getting the form to Jefferson, Washington, or St. Catherine school offices by this Wednesday. It’s a great way for your youngsters to run off energy, have fun,

build friendships and grow their skills in basketball while getting tips from high school basketball players and coaches. Each participant will receive free admittance to one HiLiner Basketball Game and a free Hi-Liner basketball t-shirt, too.
