VCSU Announces Ticketing Plan for Home Basketball Games

-

Special to Times-Record Valley City (VCSU) – Valley City State University home basketball games will be limited to 50 spectators for the near future, the athletic department announced today.

A total of 30 spots will be reserved for parents and family members of the team (two spots per player). The remaining 20 tickets will be available for VCSU students, faculty and staff on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Those 20 tickets must be picked up ahead of time at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse athletic offices. They will be available starting at 9 a.m. two days prior to the game. Only one ticket will be available per VCSU ID. (For a Saturday game, tickets will be available starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday and must be picked up before 4 p.m. on Friday.)

Fans must have a ticket or be on the player pass list to attend the games. Currently, there are no tickets available for visiting fans or the general public.

The attendance restrictions are due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Barnes County’s current classification at the orange/ high risk level. North Dakota’s Smart Restart guidelines for the “high” risk level recommend that all indoor events be limited to 50 people.

• Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

• All spectators are asked to find seating upon entering the arena and limit movement during the event.

• All attendees will be required to wear face coverings.

• Fans are asked to remain in their family groups and keep social distancing from other groups.

• Pregame and postgame gatherings will not be allowed.

• Parents and family members of studentathletes should make alternate arrangements to meet following the game.

• Fans experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19, or those who have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19, should not attend.

“As our county risk level changes, our protocols and attendance capacity will be modified,” said VCSU athletic director Jill DeVries.

VCSU will provide a free live video broadcast for all games. Fans can watch the live stream at www.vcsuvikings.com/watch.

The VCSU Century Club is also planning to sell Cardboard Cutouts of VCSU fans to display at the games. Cost is only $25 for the season. Fans must provide their own photograph.
