Letters to the Editor
If you missed the 2021 84th annual North Dakota Winter Show you missed fantastic Valley City happening. Haven't seen so many people and cars for many years. The rodeos were fantastic with 3 full house PRCA Rodeos featuring a lot of the top riders in world championship points.
Also some of the best stock in the business. All the events at this year's show great.
Hats off to Manager Tesa Klein and NDWS board of directors for a job well done.
Looking forward to next year.

Welcome, greetings from your District 24 Democrats. An editorial to our friends and let everyone know we are here to give a roundabout perspective to what is happening in Bismarck and how it affects our good citizens. We are disappointed in not having a legislative say in proposed bills and resolutions, but offer our insight into their effect in this area.
Let's look at some of the bills our North Dakota's 67th Legislature Assembly from District 24 legislators are voting on and how they fared. House Bill HB 1281 gives private schoolers a tax credit that projects a tax cost to taxpayers of $25 million. (passed 5044); HB 1323 bans political subdivisions from implementing mask mandates, (passed 5044) both yes votes for Rep. Kiefert and Christiansen. Nay votes by Rep. Cole Christiansen were HB 1441 paid family leave; passed 75-18; HB 1413 no cost school lunches; passed 70-24; HB 1431 GOP bonding bill that would fund infrastructure projects across the state, passed the House; HB 1435 bill to continue health insurance coverage to the family of emergency responders who die in the line of duty. Passed 7518. We disagree with the above votes of our Representatives for obvious reasons.
Senator Michael Wobbema voted nay on three bills SB 2170; 2209; 2183 all would have decreased prescription drug cost. Also, voted nay on aspects of the Affordable Care Act to protect pre-existing conditions and dependents staying on parents plan until age 26. Voted nay on Family Leave, failed 22-25.
HB 1275 to use Legacy earnings for higher education research, social services, Internet, workforce development and more failed 14-76 vote.
A lost opportunity.
All voting records are available for the public to review ND Legislative Branch > Legislative Bill Tracking System.
We have questions for our representatives and hope to meet them at a forum to be held somewhere in Valley City. We understand you ran on being fiscally conservative, However, they voted nay on important bills to benefit District 24 citizens, we want to know why. We invite the public to attend our biannual Reorganization Meeting Sunday, March 21st 2:00 PM at Gaukler Center, Rm. 207. Al Adams Valley City, ND
