BCBS: Enrollment for 2022 Health Coverage is Open

- Special to Times-Record

FARGO, N.D. – Open enrollment for health insurance began in November and runs through Jan. 15, 2022.

Open enrollment is a period where individuals and families can make changes to their health coverage or enroll in new coverage for any reason. If you experience a qualifying life event, like the birth of a child, a special enrollment period allows you to make changes at other points in the year.

The timeframe for open enrollment is mandated by federal law and generally closes on Dec. 15; however, in 2021, President Biden extended the deadline to Jan. 15, 2022.

It is important for all individuals and families to review their health insurance coverage to ensure it meets their needs as well as makes financial sense.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has a variety of health insurance options for individuals and families to choose from. With the American Rescue Plan, additional savings through lower premiums and increased cost assistance to new and existing policyholders may be available.

“It’s important to find the right coverage, at the right price with the right company. BCBSND is the health plan North Dakotans know and trust. With a broad network, access to a nationwide and worldwide network, coverage is available wherever you are in life and wherever life takes you,” shares Kristi Huber, BCBSND chief marketing officer. “In fact, BCBSND offers access to 100% of hospitals and 99% of doctors in North Dakota as well as coverage in all 50 states and 200 countries.”

Enrolling in a BCBSND health plan means you’ll work with people you know and trust, with experts who will help you identify your needs and budget and identify ways to save on your coverage.
