WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Babysitting Class offered for 7th and 8th graders Tuesday, April 19th and Thursday, April 21st after school. Sign up before April 14th. Cost of the class is $10. The event is sponsored by CHI Mercy Health and Valley City Optimists. Classes will be held at ELIM Church (South of Shopko). Students can sign up in VC Junior High Office starting April 4th or contact Kayla Brademeyer at kayla.brademeyer@commonspirit.org.

*Barnes County 4-H Dog Obedience Class Registration for kids- 3rd grade and up (Dogs- must be 6 months and older) will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning May 4th for 10 weeks at National Guard Armory. Call 701-845-8528 or email susan.milender@ndsu.edu with questions. Class size is limited to 12 participants on a first come, first serve basis.

*AA Fellowship Corner Meeting Schedule: Monday 8 p.m., Tuesday 6 p.m., Wednesday noon, Friday noon, Saturday 8 p.m. NA meets on Wednesday’s at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Corner. For more information call 701845-3705. The meetings are held at 320 2nd Ave SE in Valley City.

*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-845-0966 for tour and additional information.

*The Drivers License Division is currently traveling to Valley City the first and third Wednesday of each month. Services are available by appointment only by going online to dot. nd.gov or calling 1-855633-6835.

*Chinese Palace will be closed through April 7th.

• BeMobile Verizon is collecting items for a donation drive benefiting the Abused Persons Outreach Center April 11-24. Drop off items such as: soap, hair products, razors, floor, tooth brushes, toothpaste and etc. The store is located at 635 West Main Street, Valley City.

Monday, April 4th - Fox in Socks (wear crazy socks); Tuesday, April 5th - Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay up Late (wear pj’s); Wednesday, April 6th - Oh the Places You Will Go (dress for success); Thursday, April 7th - Dress as Your Favorite Book Character; Friday, April 8th - How to Get your Teacher Ready for School (dress like an educator).

• El Zagal Shrine Circus will be held in Jamestown at the Civic Center on April 5th at 5:30 p.m., gates open at 4 p.m.

• BC Senior Center Meal/ Activities: Macaroni hotdish, peas, mixed fruit. 9:30 a.m. Advisory Board, 1:15 p.m. Pinochle.

• Cass Co. Electric Cooperative will hold their 2022 annual meeting: People Behind the Power on Tuesday, April 5th. Registration at 5 p.m., meal served 5:30 p.m. and business meeting at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Delta by Marriott, southwest entrance, 1635 42nd St. SW, Fargo.

• VCBC Public Library activities: 10:30 a.m. Cooking Club will be making Berry Chicken Salad. 4:30 p.m. Teen Writing Club.

• VC Eagles Trustee meetings will be held April 6th and 20th, 7:30 p.m.

• VCPD Coffee with Cops will hold their first monthly community engagement at Alley Beans on Wednesday, April 6th from 7:30-9 a.m. Come stop by and visit with the officers and enjoy a cup of coffee.

• VCSU Drama Club presents “Food for Thought” written by Daisy Griffin and directed by Eve Scott on Friday, April 8th, 7 p.m., Vangstad Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public accepting freewill donations to support the drama club. For more information email eve. scott@vcsu.edu

• Valley City Firemen’s Fundraiser will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club on Saturday, April 9th. Beverage, chili and sausage served starting at 6 p.m. until gone. Games, raffle, pinochle tournament and prizes. Purchase tickets at the VCFD fire hall or from an VCFD volunteer.

• BC Senior Center Meal/ Activities: Lasagna soup, lettuce salad, garlic toast, pudding.

• VCBC Public Library activities: 10:30 a.m. LEGO club.

• New Life Assembly of God will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 9th from 10 a.m.- noon. The church is located at 520 Winter Show Road SW, Valley City. The event also includes games, Easter storytime along with Easter Egg hunt. All are welcome and invited to attend.
