WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

Valley City Parks and Recreation is hosting a food drive for the Barnes County Food Pantry during their October events! Items that can be donated include canned items, pastas, macaroni and cheese, baking mixes, juice in bottles, cereal, hygiene products, toilet paper, paper towels, and monetary donations to help pay for fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, milk, etc. Please ensure items are not expired or open. Donations can be brought to the Gaukler Family Wellness Center at 733 8th Ave. SW. through October 28th, 2022. Donations will also be accepted during the Trunk or Treat event happening Friday, October 28th!

COMMUNITY HEARTSAVER CPR/AED and FIRST AID class will be held for anyone in the community needing CPR/ AED and/or FIRST AID certification. Sign up is available for the general public by the Valley City Cardiac Ready Community team. Class held October 27th, 6-10 p.m. at the Health Education Center at CHI Mercy Health hospital. • CANCELLED Connect Church Trunk or Treat event will be held Monday, October 31st from 6-7:30 p.m. at the church, 320 Central Avenue S. in Valley City. Everyone welcome to join the fun in this free community event.

• Reformation Celebration—fun for all ages! Free dinner, candy, games, and prizes. Kids (and parents) can dress up, preferably medieval (royalty, knight, peasant, etc.) and Bible characters. Kids, parents, and grandparents will grow in their love of Christ and appreciation for the truths of the Bible while having a fabulous time! • St. Catherine School 50th annual “How Sweet It Is” fall auction will be held Friday, November 4th with a silent auction at 5 p.m. and a live auction at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds go to school.

• The Maple Valley Parent (MVP) Group will host a Hunter’s Opening Day Breakfast and Raffle will be held Friday, November 4 from 6-9 a.m. at the Tower City Community Center featuring great food, good company and wonderful prizes.

• Sheyenne Saloon of Kathyrn, ND will host a Halloween Party on Saturday, Nov. 5th, 9PM-1AM, featuring The Diamond Hearts Band.
