VCFD annual Firefighter’s Benefit Dance to be held November 25 at Eagles

- By TR Staff

Are you ready to dance after sleeping off that turkey dinner?

Good news then: the Valley City Fire Department’s annual Fireman’s Dance Fundraiser is just the place for you to “kick up your heels” Friday, November 25 at the Eagles Club with entertainment by “Silverado” band from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The dance fundraiser is held annually to assist in raising funds for the fire department budget for the last several years.

Scott Magnuson, Fire Chief, highlights some of the fun activities at the event including the ever popular Fireman’s Drag Race. Scott says, “The drag race is always a fan favorite and will be held again this year,” he adds, “Basically folks suit up in our fireman gear and drag a team member through the obstacle course with prizes awarded for the fastest team.”

Magnuson adds, “This event, isn’t just about firefighting, it’s about the community coming together with families and friends home for the holidays to celebrate Valley City and the people who live here.”

The Fire Department team looks forward to these events, where they get to have a good time with the community they protect. The department covers 500 square miles and over 13.5 townships. They average 150 calls per year and always strive to answer calls in 5 minutes or less.

VCFD strives to not only fight fires but also to promote fire prevention, and they’re always looking to expand their team by finding more volunteers. Tickets for the dance can be purchased from all volunteer firemen or at the door. All attendees must be 21 and over.

Contact the Valley City Fire Department at (701) 845-3351 for more information. Tickets for the benefit are available for purchase from any fire department volunteer or at the door, November 25.

This is a great event for Valley city to join together and show our appreciation and support for the men and women volunteers that protect our homes, businesses, family and friends in the event of an emergency.

See you all there!
