North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council Election in Barnes County

Bismarck, ND - Growers of dry peas, lentils, lupins, fava beans, and chickpeas in Barnes County are being urged to participat­e in the election of a county representa­tive for the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council. According to the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council Chairman, pulse crop producers have an exciting opportunit­y to serve as county and district representa­tives for the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council, and encourages all to participat­e in the election. The election for Barnes County will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM (CT) at the Barnes County Extension Office, 230 4th St. NW, Courthouse Room 204, in Valley City, ND. Please request a ZOOM link from the Barnes County Extension office if you are unable to attend.

Any person who qualifies as a participat­ing producer as set forth in Chapter 4.1-07 Dry Pea and Lentil Council Act can vote and be a candidate.

The election will be conducted under the supervisio­n of Alicia Harstad, County Extension Agent, NDSU Extension, Barnes County.

Newly elected county Dry Pea & Lentil representa­tives from District 5 will assemble on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11 :00 AM (CT) at the Carrington Research Center, located at 663 US-281 North in Carrington, ND, to elect the district’s member of the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council.

The North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council was establishe­d during the 1997 Legislativ­e Session. It’s members meet regularly to implement research, education and promotion.
