*Valley City Troubadour­s rehearse every Monday night at 7 at the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rehearsal is open to all men who want to have some fun and share the gift of song. *Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating Sunday night’s from 6-8 p.m. at the Rec Center, 140 4th St SW, Valley City. No outside roller skates or roller blades allowed. Sat., Jan. 28

• Stoudt-Miller, Inc. joins with the Valley City Eagles Club to host a benefit for Pat Malec,who is battling metastatic breast cancer. A free will offering baked potato bar, silent auction, bake sale and wine/spirits pull will be held January 28, at the club, starting at 5 p.m. The Eagles is located at 345 12th Ave NE in Valley City.

• VCSU Planetariu­m presents “Let’s Look Up” on January 28, 1 p.m., at the Rhoades Sciene Center. The program is free and open to the public with available elevator access in west side entrance.

• Sodbuster Saloon Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry will be held Saturday, January 28 at the Sodbuster Saloon in Sibley, ND from 6 p.m. until gone. There will also be a meat raffle and gun boards at the event. All are invited to attend.

• District 24 Legislativ­e will hold a Meet and Greet in Litchville at the Community Center from 8:30-10 a.m. and in Lisbon at Pizza Ranch (back private room) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th.

• VCBC Public Library Activities: 10:30 a.m. Lego Club.

• NC Shooting Sports meeting will be held January 28, 2-8:30 p.m., at the VC Eagles Club.

• LaMoure Fire Department 20th annual Chili Cookoff and Chili Feed & Live Auction will be held Sat., Jan.

28. Cooking time 12-5 p.m., chili feed and judging by the public at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the Lazy Pair in LaMoure, ND.

Sun., Jan. 29

• Connect Church will host a Spaghetti Fundraiser on Sunday, January 29th after the service in the lower level of the church. The event is a free will offering with monies collected to go towards the students attending the Nazarene Youth Conference in Florida, July of 2023.

• The BCN Bisonette dance team, family, and friends will host a spaghetti dinner at the Dazey Community Center in Dazey, ND, on February 5th from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event includes dinner, basket raffle, good fun & fun for the whole family.

• The Valley City Baseball Associatio­n will host a Preseason Informatio­nal Meeting on Sunday, Feb. 5, regarding its summer American Legion and Babe Ruth baseball teams. The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m. at the HiLiner Activity Center. Parents or guardians of players ages 13-18 planning to play Valley City Legion or Babe Ruth baseball this summer are encouraged to attend. Registrati­on for the VCBA summer baseball programs opens Feb. 1 and can be done online at www.valleycity­baseball.org/registrati­on.

• NDSU Ext-Barnes County present a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn class Tuesday, February 7 on Alheimer’s and the 10 common warning signs. The one hour class will begin at 12 noon in the lower level of the Valley City Barnes County Library, 410 Central Ave., Valley City. Theresa Will from City-County Health will also be sharing informatio­n on the new Healthy Brain Initiative Roadmap for Barnes County Grant. The class is free and open to the public.
