*Valley City Troubadours rehearse every Monday night at 7 at the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rehearsal is open to all men who want to have some fun and share the gift of song. *Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating Sunday night’s from 6-8 p.m. at the Rec Center, 140 4th St SW, Valley City. No outside roller skates or roller blades allowed. • VCSU Department of Music presents an Instrumental Concert Friday, February 17, 7:30 p.m., in the Performance Hall, Center for the Arts Building on the VCSU Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
• Firemen Ladies Appreciation Night will be held February 17th at the Valley City Eagles Club.
• Barnes County Senior Center Activities & Meals: Chicken on a bun, augratin potatoes, broccoli, Jello. 9:30 a.m. Bone Builders Exercise, 1 p.m. Bingo.

• Knights of Columbus Council 6438 presents Carnival 2023 Mardi Gras at St. Catherine School gymnasium, Sunday, Feb. 19, 2-4 p.m. Games, face painting, concessions, cake walk, fish pond, minigolf, plinko and corn hole. The event is a free will offering and open to the public.
Feb. 17 & 20
• Valley City Public Schools and St. Catherine School will be closed on Feb. 17th for parent/teacher conference compensation day and on Feb. 20th in observance of the President’s Day holiday.
Mon., Feb. 20
• Valley City Lion’s Club meeting will be held Feb. 20, 6:30 p.m., at the Valley City Eagles Club.
• Barnes County Courthouse will be closed Monday, February 20, 2023 in observance of President’s Day. The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and Jail will remain staffed.
• The Transfer Station and Public Works office will be closed Monday February 20 for President’s Day. Monday’s garbage route will be picked up Tuesday. Tuesday and Wednesday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will follow the regular pick-up schedule.
• VCBC Public Library will be closed in honor of the President’s Day holiday.
Feb. 20, 21, 23, 28 & Mar. 2
• Hunter Education will meet in-person at the VCSU Rhodes Science Center on Feb. 20, 21, 23, 28 and Mar. 2 from 6-9:30 p.m., all evenings. Must attend all nights to pass the course. If you do not attend, you may lose the opportunity to enroll for a year. Students under the age of 18, please have your guardian come with for the first evening of class to sign the student registration card.
