FUI honors Sanchez as Wrestler of the Week
Wrestler of the Week for the week ending February 11, 2023 is Victoria Sanchez
Victoria is a Sophomore at VCHS and wrestles at 110lbs for the Hi-Liners. Victoria started her wrestling career approximately only one month ago, but yet she was able to win over 50% of her matches thus far, earning a record of 7
wins and 6 losses, which is quite a feat for starting this late in the wrestling season. Victoria had a great East Region tournament as well, with wins over Kasia Schonert of Grand Forks and Brayden Sutherland of Lisbon. She finished 7th in the East Region and earned a trip the ND State Tournament.

Most memorable wrestling moment: pinning the girl to make it into state/ running to mom and coaches.
Biggest life lesson you’ve learned so far from the sport of wrestling: it takes time for things to come
Goal for next wrestling season: be better than this season. Become good at wrestling and only lose a few matches. Start to win more consistently and make my coaches/ family proud
