Letters to the Editor

-

In response to a couple of recent letters in the Times Record, I am not alone in this crusade. There are enough of us that we have gotten some Bills passed in the North Dakota Legislature this year to protect our children.

Sarah, you are right about the internet. Wasn’t there going to be a safeguard so the obscene “Dark side of the web” could not be viewed by children? Could we agree that porn and sex trafficking are one and the same? There is a documentary movie coming soon on sex trafficking in North Dakota.

So, because the internet is more evil and scary, does that mean we should have these books in our public library? North Dakota Century Code 12.1-27.1-02 defines these books as promoting obscenity to minors. Our local library board is in violation of the North Dakota Century Code when is comes to children. And furthermore, it lists fines of ten to fifty thousand dollars, plus up to ten years in prison. That is what the Century Code says.

Ted Bundy said his problem was porn and it caused him to be mentally ill, enough to where he killed repeatedly.

Joe, you believe life does not begin at conception. So then it is dead, right? So, how does it grow?

How do they find a heartbeat in 18 days? And, the child has rights. There is a man charged with a double homicide for killing a pregnant mother. How do you explain that?

The CDC report states that teenage girls are in crises due to sexual assault. One-third of teen girls have thought of suicide; one-fifth of teen girls have tried it.

Saying that porn does not cause sex crimes is the same as saying that sunlight does not cause sunburn.
