*Barnes County Veterans Service Office Veterans Coffee Hour welcomes BC Veterans to a meet and greet with other area veterans every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Office is located at 575 10th St SW, Suite #7, Valley City (same building as Sheriff’s Office). Refreshmen­ts and treats will be provided.

*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-8450966 for tour and additional informatio­n.

• Barnes County Tornado Preparedne­ss Day will be April 24th with sirens sounding, throughout Barnes County communitie­s, at 1 p.m. Watch for more informatio­n to come in your Times-Record.

• The CROP WALK for HUNGER, an ecumenical event, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 pm, starting on the west side of Jefferson Elementary School. All are invited to walk and donate to hunger relief.

• Valley City Public Schools K-12 Grade Art Show will be held Thursday, April 25, 5-7 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC). The public is welcome and invited to come and see the talent and creativity of our young artists at VCPS.

• Monroe Doctrine Bluegrass Band in Concert will be held Thursday, April 25th, 7-9 p.m. at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center, downtown Valley City. The Vault’s bluegrass houseband presents two hours of their favorite downhome music featuring fiddle, banjo, guitar, and bass. Bluegrass classics and originals. Free admisson; donations accepted. • In celebratio­n of Arbor Day, April 26th, The City Forester will be having a tree planting at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, on the west side of the Rosebud Visitor Center. There will be a tree planting and a speaker will be joining us from the ND Forest Service. Arbor Day enthusiast­s are welcome to bring a chair and come on out for an enjoyable afternoon.

• 29th annual Valley City State University Scholarshi­p Auction Presents: Get Groovy, Vikings on April 26 at the Valley City Eagles Club. This year’s theme will be 70’s. Auction tickets includes admission, two drink tickets and a buffet dinner.
