*Barnes County Veterans Service Office Veterans Coffee Hour welcomes BC Veterans to a meet and greet with other area veterans every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Office is located at 575 10th St SW, Suite #7, Valley City (same building as Sheriff’s Office). Refreshments and treats will be provided.

*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-8450966 for tour and additional information.

*St. Catherine Quilters make quilts for those in need, meeting every Thursday from 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. in the basement gym of St. Catherine School. All are welcome, no experience necessary and supplies are provided. Questions call Christine 701-8402580 or Lela 701-8458352.

* Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered 12-step program for every hurt, habit or hang-up meets 6:15 p.m. free will donation meal, 7 p.m. large group, 8 p.m. small group with childcare available at Connect Church, 320 Central Avenue South in Valley City. *AA Fellowship Corner Meeting Schedule: Monday 7 p.m., Wednesday noon, Friday noon, Saturday 8 p.m. NA Meetings: Thursday at 12 noon and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 701845-3705. The meetings are held at 320 2nd Ave SE in Valley City.

• Barnes County Tornado Preparedness Day will be April 24th with sirens sounding, throughout Barnes County communities, at 1 p.m. Watch for more information to come in your Times-Record.

• The CROP WALK for HUNGER, an ecumenical event, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 pm, starting on the west side of Jefferson Elementary School. All are invited to walk and donate to hunger relief.

• VCBC Public Library Activities: 2 p.m. NDSU Field to Fork Watch Party - Making Nature at Home in Your Landscape - Carrie Knutson, NDSU Extension Agent, Agriculture & Natural Resources - Horticulture. Library Activity: Dressing in a bag.10 a.m. Circle Time, 10:30 Story Hour, 4 p.m. Book Club.

• Valley City Public Schools K-12 Grade Art Show will be held Thursday, April 25, 5-7 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC). The public is welcome and invited to come and see the talent and creativity of our young artists at VCPS.

• Monroe Doctrine Bluegrass Band in Concert will be held Thursday, April 25th, 7-9 p.m. at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center, downtown Valley City. The Vault’s bluegrass houseband presents two hours of their favorite downhome music featuring fiddle, banjo, guitar, and bass. Bluegrass classics and originals. Free admisson; donations accepted. • Valley City Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Hamburger Night will be held Thursday, April 25, 5-7 p.m. at the club. Auxiliary meeting to follow the meal.

• In celebration of Arbor Day, April 26th, The City Forester will be having a tree planting at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, on the west side of the Rosebud Visitor Center. There will be a tree planting and a speaker will be joining us from the ND Forest Service. Arbor Day enthusiasts are welcome to bring a chair and come on out for an enjoyable afternoon.

• 29th annual Valley City State University Scholarship Auction Presents: Get Groovy, Vikings on April 26 at the Valley City Eagles Club. This year’s theme will be 70’s. Auction tickets includes admission, two drink tickets and a buffet dinner.
