*Barnes County Veterans Service Office Veterans Coffee Hour welcomes BC Veterans to a meet and greet with other area veterans every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Office is located at 575 10th St SW, Suite #7, Valley City (same building as Sheriff’s Office). Refreshmen­ts and treats will be provided.

• Attention students, grades 1-12, are needed to play the roles in WMIC Easy Listening “Mice, Rats & A Cat.” No preparatio­n is necessary. Roles are available for anyone with enthusiasm for theater! • Valley City High School Under the Stars Prom will be held on Saturday, May 4th at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. The doors for the public will open at 7 pm. From 11:45 p.m. to 3 a.m. a Post-Prom Party, hosted by the parents of the Class of 2025, will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club.

• Litchville-Marion Roaring 20’s prom will be held on Saturday, May 4th with Grand March at 8 p.m. at the school.

Sun., May 5

• Barnes County Senior Citizen Center lunch menu and activities: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, apricots.

• A Cinco de Mayo event will be held on Sunday, May 5, 3-6 p.m., in the Carolyn Pfeifer Room of the 1916 Buffalo High School. The event is open to the public, with all welcomed to attend.

• 3rd Annual Spring Fling will be held on Sunday, May 5th at the HAC underneath the lights of prom. A dance will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. and is open to families with those in preschool to 6th grade. There will be DJ music to dance and enjoy plus lots of selfie stations.

• Open Door Center and Encompass to the HAC from 12:45-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 5th for their own Spring Formal, with a grand march starting at 1 p.m.

• The Valley Troubadour­s will be in concert at VCSU Fine Arts Center on Sunday, May 5th, 7 p.m.

Mon., May 6

• VCHS Music Department presents Music From Around The World Band Concert on May 6 at 7 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC). Musical moments featuring pieces from Greece, Argentina, Japan and more. Ending musical travels back in Valley City, ND, with the premier of “Prayer of Healing” by local composer Paul Cravens. “Prayer for Healing” was commission­ed especially for the VCHS Bands by Rebecca Elliot and the VCHS Music Boosters.
