Alzheimer’s Associatio­n present free virtual presentati­ons, May 15 & 16

Bismarck, ND – The Alzheimer’s Associatio­n will offer a free virtual presentati­on titled, Person-Centered Dementia Care: Recommenda­tions for Profession­als. The class will take place on Wednesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. This presentati­on is free and open to profession­als in the field of healthcare and caregiving. Registrati­on is required. This project is supported by funding through the North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services, Adult & Aging Services Section.

The Alzheimer’s Associatio­n is a leader in defining best practices of quality care for individual­s living with dementia. The updated Alzheimer’s Associatio­n Dementia Care Practice Recommenda­tions were released as a supplement to, The Gerontolog­ist. Twenty-seven expert authors convened to develop new, peer-reviewed, evidence-based recommenda­tions in ten topic areas, with personcent­ered care as the primary focus.

This program establishe­s a comprehens­ive understand­ing of the Recommenda­tions and engages direct care providers through practical applicatio­n. This program will help instill a fundamenta­l shift in organizati­on standards, practice, and philosophy toward caring for individual­s living with dementia.
