The Sonos Play:5 Beastie Boys Edition wireless speaker doesn’t just live in a black-or-white world anymore. With the recent release of the new “Beastie Boys Book” and now a graphically decorated red-and-white speaker, the punks turned rappers are having a bit of a moment. The death of bass player Adam “MCA” Yauch due to cancer in 2012 basically brought an end to the band, but “Licensed to Ill” or “Paul’s Boutique” will sound as good as they did in the 1980s on the room-filling Wi-fi speaker designed by Mike D and Ad-rock with a custom typeface from Barry Mcgee. Proceeds from sales of the speaker will go to Peace Sisters and Little Kids Rock in the name of the Adam Yauch Foundation. The limited edition is priced at $499.
It’s not much of a surprise that Marley wants to rent out his former Beverly Hills home, since late in 2017 he shelled out $5.5 million for a much larger, more opulent mansion of more than 9,300 square feet in a particularly plum corner of the also celeb-swarmed Toluca Lake community, where some of his nearest A-list neighbors include Steve Carell and Viola Davis.
