“Leave No Trace”

In her long-awaited follow-up to the best picture-nominated “Winter’s Bone,” Granik delved into another case of a tough-willed young woman living in the margins of society in “Leave No Trace." As with Granik’s last feature, both her stars have come into high praise for their performances here, but this time the director herself appears to finally be receiving her due attention. Granik won best director honors from both the Los Angeles Film Critics Assn. and the San Diego Film Critics Assn., and she was also nominated for best director by the Spirit Awards.
