Spike Lee
“Blackkklansman”
Ever since Martin Scorsese finally won his long- denied Oscar for “The Departed,” Lee has occupied his old place in the ranks of American master filmmakers who have yet to win the Oscars’ big prize. “Blackkklansman” may be Lee's best chance at Oscar gold in years, earning Lee both his highest box office and strongest reviews in more than a decade. The film was named to AFI’S top 10 movies of the year, as well as winning the Grand Prix from Cannes and a director nom from the Golden Globes.
