A BOMBSHELL BAR

Veranda - - DESIGN STUDY -

THE OWNERS HAD PLANNED to take the sunroom off the house, but Cavinwinfrey prevailed with an alternate vision. “I thought it was important to have a formal bar off the living room. In larger homes like this, people want to retreat to intimate settings to talk and visit,” the designer notes. She added a copper cupola, then repeated its octagonal shape in a laser-cut marble floor pattern. Penlights inside the shelving cast a festive sheen on the green lacquer walls, ceiling, and cabinetry. “It’s like a solarium-slash-bar, serving up so many delights, from the bold play of light to the 360-degree view of the garden.”
