EBONY EXCELLENCE

Victorian Homes - - Shopper -

The ebony bedroom remains the same way it looked in 1891. The trellis wallpaper, made by Hamilton Weston, is the recreation of a 19th century design that once hung in this room. The Brussels-weave carpet is also a replica of a 19th century carpet. The paintings of Roman ruins are Italian and date to 1756. The Lancaster state bed is from the Fonthill Abbey sale in September 1823.

The ebony bedroom contains a bed came from the Fonthill Abbey sale in 1823, while the table and wash stand were specially made in the 1830s to complement the bed.
