Waikiki Magazine - - ILOVE WAIKIKI -

Many visitors to the isles make their first introduction to our tropical fruits, nectars, nut oils and other edibles at the dinner table. But these delicacies have the power to heal both inside and out, and many of the same ingredients can be found on the menus of our spas. Here are a few of the treatments that use local ingredients that are available: Bliss will be yours with the spa’s Tropical Scrub add-on body therapy. Organic passion fruit oils infused with Hawaiian sea salt fuse together to form an invigorating raw sugar scrub. Couple this 25-minute treatment with a soothing massage, for the ultimate, full-body glow—and smoother, more hydrated skin to boot. The cost is $75 for the Tropical Scrub, and $200 for an 80-minute lomi lomi. butter. You’ll then be wrapped in sea algae masque enriched with precious marine botanicals and rich essential oils. End with healing application of shea butter and some off-island elements: beach morning glory and fresh clove. Compare this to a breath of fresh ocean air. The cost is $175 for 60 minutes, and $260 for 90 minutes.
