City Lafayette offers free natural gas water heater

The City of LaFayette is offering a free citizens during September and October. LaFayette has joined cities across the state to create the Great Water Heater Round Up. In addition to a free natural gas tank water heater for its citizens, the city is offering a $200 rebate towards the installati­on of a natural gas tank water heater, according to a media release. Other incentives include $300 towards the purchase and installati­on of a natural gas tankless water heater and half-off the gas tap fee for new natural gas customers. Natural gas tankless water heating is one of the more efficient ways to heat water today, according to the release. “The City of LaFayette cares about its citizens and wants to do what we can to make our homes and places of business energy efficient, comfortabl­e and enjoyable places to be,” said Rod Robertson, gas superinten­dent. “The Great Water Heater Round Up is an excellent opportunit­y for citizens to switch out their electric or propane water heaters to natural gas.” The Great Water Heater Round Up is a partnershi­p between local government­s in Georgia, water heater manufactur­ers, local contractor­s and local businesses to help consumers understand the advantages of natural gas water heating. During these 60 days, special rebates, offers and events will be available to consumers to help with the purchase and installati­on of a natural gas water heater.
