Comcast hiring up to 150 for regional team in Chattanooga
Comcast Chattanooga is creating a new regional operations team that will add up to 150 jobs at the Comcast office on Polymer Drive by the end of the year. The team will be responsible for handling installation and service operations in Chattanooga and other Comcast markets throughout the southeast. “It’s great to be able to add so many jobs here as a demonstration of our commitment to Chattanooga and to providing excellent customer service,” said Jim Weigert, vice president and general manager of Comcast Chattanooga. “And when selecting the location, it was the strength of the local team here in Chattanooga that made the choice clear.” The team will oversee schedules for installation and service, while new technologies are expected to add scheduling efficiencies for customers, according to a media release. Comcast is already scheduling most of its customer visits within a two-hour window, but aims to do even better. “We are committed to making the right investments in people, advanced technologies and new processes to ensure customers receive the best possible experience each and every time they call Comcast,” said Elaine Tapp, Comcast regional senior director of CommOps. The new team will consist of entrylevel jobs, as well as more experienced supervisory and management roles. Hiring has already begun, with dozens of jobs filled from a job fair held at the Chattanooga Convention Center earlier this year, but there are up to 80 more openings to fill. The group is looking for individuals who are good at multitasking, have strong communications skills, are comfortable in an office environment and are very customer focused.
