William Dale Drymon, 63 Rossville

William Dale Drymon of Rossville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014. He was 63.

He was born in Chattanoog­a, Tenn., to the late Morris and Irene Drymon, but lived in the north Georgia area for most of his life.

He retired from Blow Pipe Sheet Metal as a welder after more than 15 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Brooks and brother, Jimmy Drymon.

Survivors include: His two sons, Donnie Dewayne Drymon and Josh Drymon both of Hixson, Tenn.; sister, Debbie Davis of Rossville and six grandchild­ren.

Visitation: Thursday, Aug. 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Richard Eric “Rick” Coulter of Chickamaug­a departed this life Wednesday Aug. 20, 2014. He was 49.

Survivors include: His daughter, Tabatha Coulter; son, Dustin Coulter, both of Chattanoog­a; fiancé, Brenda Arbajian of Chickamaug­a; father, Willy Coulter of Fort Oglethorpe; mother, Pat Coulter of Arkansas; brother, Rodney Coulter of Fort Oglethorpe; grandsons, Landon and Kingston Coulter; niece, Paige and nephew, Josh.

Frances Lucille Lance, 77 Ringgold

Frances Lucille Lance of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. She was 77.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and north Georgia area where she was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and also attended Bible Baptist Church.

She was a beautician having owned beauty shops in Ringgold for many years. She also worked for Winn-Dixie in East Brainerd for several years in the floral department. Her passions in life were her family, church, and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Christine Wilson and three brothers, Clarence “Buddy” Wilson, Jr., Don Wilson and Joe Wilson.

Survivors include: Her three children, Kathy (Eddie) Long of Ringgold, Ray (Shonda) Lance of Rock Spring and Steven (Gina) Lance of Rossville; six grandchild­ren, Nicole McMath, Danielle Green, Perrin Lance, Garrett Lance, Savannah Caldwell, Dina Reagan and Christophe­r Lance; six great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Mattie Lucille Webb Headrick, 89 Ringgold

Mattie Lucille Webb Headrick of Ringgold went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. She was 89.

A resident of the north Georgia, Chattanoog­a area for most of her life, she was a former employee of State Farm Insurance where she worked for over 10 years and was a member of Boynton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and VBS for many years.

Mattie and her late husband Ralph were former owners of a motel in south Georgia for several years and also owned and ran Ralph Headrick Rodeo Inc.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ross Headrick; parents, Jeff and Jenny Kirkland Webb; son, Daniel Patrick Headrick; two sisters, Amy Webb and Marie Franks and brother, William Webb.

Survivors include: Her son and daughter-inlaw, Steve and Hyechong Headrick of Ringgold; five grandchild­ren, six great grandchild­ren, two great great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

James Oscar Turner, 81 Flintstone

James Oscar “Buddy” Turner of Flintstone, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was 81.

He was born to the late Brown N. and Lella Smith Turner in Bledsoe Co., spent most of his life in Rossville and was of the Baptist faith. Buddy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked for Peerless Mills in Rossville before retiring from U.S. Pipe in 1995 after 30 years.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Davis.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 58 years, Robbie Smith Turner; sons, Terry Turner of Soddy Daisy and Sandy and (Carol) Turner of Marietta; sister, Loretta Kelley of Rossville; seven grandchild­ren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 24, from 1-5 p.m. and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

David Michael Revels, 55 Rossville

David Michael Revels of Rossville, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was 55.

He lived most of his life in Hayward, Calif., where he graduated from Sunset High School Class of ‘76, but lived in the north Georgia area for the last 27 years.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a Navy veteran who participat­ed with the Attempted Rescue of American Hostages that were being held at the American Embassy in Tehran, Iran in March of 1980.

He was employed with Sonitrol as a service tech for more than 20 years and worked with Arcade Marketing as a union printer for more than 10 years.

He loved tattoos, watching NASCAR, Alabama football and the San Francisco 49ers. He was a loving brother and uncle who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Revels; mother, Reba Porter and sister, Deborah Revels.

Survivors include: His three sisters, Robin Hamilton and Kimberly Leedy, both of Valley Head, Ala. and Lisa Singleton of Rossville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 26, after 4 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lake M. Sisson, 88 Rossville

Lake M. Sisson of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. He was 88.

He was born to the late George W. and Beaulah A. Sherrill Sissons in Delano, Tenn., and was a member of Chickamaug­a Church of Christ.

He moved to the north Georgia area from Gastonia, N.C., in 1946. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during W.W. II and retired from Crane Enamel after 37 years of employment. He was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and brother who will be greatly missed.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Alyadean Dale and stepdaught­er, Denise Vaughn.

Survivors include: His wife of 30 years, Marilynn Sisson; son, Larry (Joyce) Sisson of Rock Spring; stepchildr­en, Debra (Paul) Oliver of East Ridge, Tenn., Tommy (Jean) Gadd of Calhoun, Ga. and Bobby (Melissa) Vaughn of Chickamaug­a, Ga.; four grandchild­ren; six great grandchild­ren; two great-great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Tony Saffles, 69 Fort Oglethorpe

Tony Saffles of Fort Oglethorpe, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. He was 69.

He lived in the north Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed with the Chattanoog­a Choo Choo Maintenanc­e Division for more than 32 years, but his true passion in life was being completely devoted to taking care of his family and friends.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Saffles; mother, Lucille Moreland; sister, Ila Jean Williams and grandson, Cody Rominger.

Survivors include: His loving wife of more than 21 years, Linda Case Saffles of Fort Oglethorpe; children and spouses, Toni Lynn and (Tracy) Rominger of Ringgold, Tommy and (Staci) Saffles of East Ridge, Tenn., Wendy and (Scott) Whittle of Calhoun, Ga. and Jeffery Morris of Ringgold; two sisters, Faye Silvers and Lois Bradford both of Cleveland, Tenn.; eight grandchild­ren; one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eloise Burton Self of Ringgold, passed from death unto life Saturday Aug. 23, 2014. She was 95.

A native of Athens, Tenn., she lived in the Ringgold area for most of her life and was a member of East Brainerd Church of God since 1978.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Watt Self; parents, Walter Lee and Nellie Lunsford Burton; four sisters and four brothers.

Frankline Foster, 72 Rossville

Franklin “Gene” Foster, 72 of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. He was 72.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and north Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends and retired from BFI as a truck driver in 1998 after more than seven years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.A. and Grace Foster; granddaugh­ter, Samantha Leming and grandson John Leming.

Jackie Wayne Chandler of Rossville, passed away Sunday Aug. 24, 2014. He was 69.

A native of Scottsvill­e, Ky., Jackie was a resident of the Chattanoog­a/Rossville area for the past 38 years and formerly of Goodlettsv­ille, Tenn. He was an employee of Walden Security Company for 12 years and was of the Christian faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Doyle Chandler; parents, William Burton and Louise Jane Mitchell Chandler and brother, William David Chandler.

Survivors include: His three children, Carla Pickett (Rick) of Rossville, David Chandler of Kennesaw and Deborah Lubbe (Jerome) of Smyrna; four grandchild­ren and one great granddaugh­ter.

Revonda Anne Knight of Rossville passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014. She was 62.

She was born in Kansas to the late Ronald and Mary Etta Abee Knight. She previously resided in Hickory, N.C., and had been a Rossville resident for the past six years.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Cindi Knight.

Marjorie Outlaw Flournoy of Chattanoog­a passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014. She was 83.

She lived in the Chattanoog­a area for most of her life and was of the Christian faith.

Her personal ministry in life was sending cards out to family and friends. She was completely devoted to her family and was a loving mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Rev. Robert Lewis Combs, 84 East Ridge

Rev. Robert Lewis Combs of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, surrounded by his family and loving wife. He was 84.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and a member of Gospel Way Baptist Church. He was a devoted Christian and served as pastor at Jones Memorial Baptist Church and interim pastor at Hughes Avenue Baptist Church.

He retired from the Hormel Meat Co. after 30 years and was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and brother who enjoyed singing to all of his children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd N. and Mary Evelyn Carden Combs; sisters, Mary “Boots” Porter and Helen Hodge and brother, Johnny Walker Combs.

Daniel Lynn Eiler, 30 Ringgold

Daniel Lynn Eiler of Ringgold, started his new life in eternity on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014. He was 30.

He was a graduate of East Ridge High School and attended UTC where he played in the band.

He grew up in South Seminole Baptist Church and accepted the call to ministry while a member of the youth group. He served in the youth ministries at South Seminole Baptist Church, Church at Catoosa, Life Gate Church and The Springs Church before becoming the senior pastor at the Springs Church.

Survivors include: His parents, Stephen and Linda Eiler of East Ridge, and his wife, Cassie Camp Eiler; he was the proud father of two sons, Cade Daniel and Haddon Paul Eiler, all of Ringgold; brother, Andy (Katherine) Eiler of Smyrna, Del. and a niece, Anabelle Grace Eiler.

Emma Giles Buckner of Wicksburg, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at her residence. She was 82.

She was born April 23, 1932, in Catoosa County and lived most of her life in the Rossville area. She has been a resident of Wicksburg for the past several years.

She was employed as a nurse and a beautician during her working career. She loved art, especially painting. She was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith.

Survivors include: Her son, Melvin Giles(Jan) of Wicksburg; three grandchild­ren; 14 great-grandchild­ren; one great-great grandchild and sister, Doris Gordy of Rossville.

Mertie Belle Hubbard Newton of East Ridge died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014. She was 92.

She was born in Crossville, Tenn., to the late Fred and Mary Ann Hubbard and was a member of Spring Creek Church of God in East Ridge.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Newton.

Jerry L. Phillips, 68 Ringgold

Jerry L. Phillips of Ringgold passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. He was 68.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1945, to the late Foster and Marie Brown Phillips in Chattanoog­a, Tenn. His passions in life were spending time with his grandson, coin collecting, being active in the SASS Shooting Club and watching television with his family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Jeffery “Scotty” Phillips.

Survivors include: His wife Lynnda Cooper Phillips of Ringgold; stepdaught­ers, Kristy Swearengin and Lisa (Robert) Tennant, both of Ringgold; sister, Reeann Phillips of Fort Oglethorpe and grandson Austin Lee of Ringgold.

Virlon E. Veal Lookout Mountain

Virlon E. Veal, a lifelong resident of the West Brow Community of Lookout Mountain, Ga., went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was 73.

He was employed as a machinist with Chattanoog­a Glass Company for twenty-eight years and was a self-employed carpenter having worked for many years with Erwin Marine Sales & Gold Point Marina until his retirement.

He was a member of West Cove Holiness Church, was an avid

hunter, loved camping and the outdoors and landscapin­g his yard.

Virlon was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. and Ollie Veal, and sisters, Martha Mae Veal and Imery Jean Dabbs.

Willie “Granny” Burnette of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014. She was 75.

She lived in the Chattanoog­a area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed taking trips to different casinos and just enjoying life, but her true passion and drive was taking care of her children and grandchild­ren.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r and greatgreat grandmothe­r who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Burnette and sister, Geraldine Caldwell.

Survivors include: Her five children, Eddie Burnette, Tim Burnette, Regina Sutton, Charlie Burnette and Donna Burnette, all of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; three step-daughters, Gail Hilton of Rossville, Louise Ratliff of LaFayette and Susie Peterson of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; nine grandchild­ren; several great grandchild­ren; several great-great grandchild­ren and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services: Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Carter officiatin­g.

Burial: Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Visitation: Sunday, Aug. 31, after 4 p.m., all day Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

John Davis Goode, II, 85 Ringgold

John Davis Goode, II, of Ringgold, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at his home. He was 85.

He was a retired US Army veteran, and also retired from the Chattanoog­a Electric Power Board.

He was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: His wife, Lisa Good of Ringgold; a son, John Douglas (Debbie) Goode of Chattanoog­a; daughter, Susan (Gerald) Good Brown of Ft. Oglethorpe; step-son, J.K. (Carly) Lockhart of Baton Rouge, La., his former wife, Bettye McDaris Goode of Chattanoog­a; four grandchild­ren, Kari Goode (Mark) Dillard of Flintstone, Joshua (Summer) Brown of Ringgold, Sarah Goode (Charlie) Ritchie of Chickamaug­a and Adam (Jill Hobbs) Brown of Cohutta; an expected grandchild, Jude Davis Lockhart, five great-grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Keith Ronald Bogh, 83 Rossville

Keith “Cowboy” Ronald Bogh, of Rossville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014. He was 83.

He was born in LeMars, Iowa, to George Raymond and Christine Emilia Miller Bogh. He was raised on a farm and started his own dairy farm.

He was the former owner and operator of Southway Equipment and Truck Sales in Ringgold, which was the third largest in America. He was also a manufactur­er of heavy trailers for freight and an inventor.

He was of the Christian faith and he valued his relationsh­ips with his friends and family more than anything.

He enjoyed playing golf and flying his Beech Bonanzas. He was an avid NASCAR fan and football fan, except for the Tennessee Volunteers.

He was the builder and owner of a 1976 Kenworth W900 which held the world’s fastest stock heavy-duty diesel truck land speed record set in Salt Lake City Flats, named the “Liberty Bell.”

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Mesman and granddaugh­ter, Brianna Mitchell.

Survivors include: His wife, Sharon Hunnicutt Bogh of Rossville; their children, Kent (Myra) Bogh, Klark Bogh, all of Baytown, Texas, Kathy Mitchell of Cedar Park, Texas, Kristina Bogh Calhoun, Kimberly Monique Bogh, both of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., Butch Sutter, Amanda Sutter, both of Rossville, Hutch Sutter of Cullman, Ala.; sister, Donna Roche; brother, Bill Bogh, both of Rogers, Ark., sixteen grandchild­ren, two great-grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friday, Aug. 29, from 5-9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday after 10 a.m. until the service.

Funeral services: Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens- South, Rossville.
