Otis Shirley “Shorty” Martin, 83 Chattanoog­a

Otis Shirley “Shorty” Martin, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in a local hospital. He was 83.

Mr. Martin was the owner/operator of Martin Speedomete­r & Electric Company in the Lakeview community and was known as the best speedomete­r, alternator and starter repairman in the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia areas.

He was a member of Chattanoog­a First Church of the Nazarene where he served on the board for more than 40 years and served his country in the U.S. Army as a mechanic during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally B. Martin; his parents, Duke and Mattie Martin; brother, Joe Martin and sister, Martha Rae Lowery.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 15 years, Sandra Martin; daughters, Teri Martin and Christy (Rob) Hambrick; grandchild­ren, Ethan Martin Hambrick and Brooklyn Paige Hambrick; stepdaught­er, Linda (Robert) Hanna; step granddaugh­ter, Ashley Dean and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friday, Aug. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory. Mr. Martin will lie-in-state Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the church.

Funeral service: Saturday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Chattanoog­a First Church of the Nazarene, 5455 North Terrace, Chattanoog­a, Tenn., 37411, with Rev. Eric Johnson and Rev. John Andrus officiatin­g.

Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to Chattanoog­a First Church of the Nazarene.
