Saddle Ridge volleyball­ers reach 10-win mark

The Saddle Ridge varsity Lady Mustangs swept visiting LaFayette last Tuesday, 25-18 and 25-15, to pick up their ninth win of the season.

Imani Cook had seven kills to go with one block and Brooklyn Hudson added five kills to go with four digs and three aces. Kayci Brackett had three kills, two aces and a dig, while Daisy Felipe finished with four assists, two digs, two kills and an ace.

Colby Charland recorded three assists, two digs, a kill and an ace, while Chloe Day added two digs and an ace. Defensivel­y, Maddie Moore had five digs, followed by Alexis Fleet with four, Ashley Rawlston with two and Sydney Jones with one.

Aubrey Blankenshi­p had seven hits and two kills for the Lady Ramblers, while Sarah Ray had three hits, two tips and two kills. Gracie Hess had five tips on the night.

In the earlier junior varsity match, Saddle Ridge picked up a 2514, 25-12 victory behind 10 kills an ace from Justice Devlin. Kailey Boulware had a nice all-around match with five aces, four kills, three assists and two digs, while Brylee Durham filled up the stat sheet with five aces, three digs and a kill.

Jaden Tucker had three kills and a dig, while Markella Johnson had three kills, six digs and one assist. Samantha Cramer dished out six assists to go with a dig and a kill and Natalee McClain served up five aces. Other standouts included Winter Johnson (2 kills, 1 assist), Amylia Kelley (2 digs) and Kaitlyn Helton (2 digs, 1 ace).

Brittany Aguero had one kill for LaFayette, while Bella Brown connected on 84 percent of her passes, 100 percent of her serves and 67 percent of her hits.

The Lady Mustangs recorded a big sweep on the road at Heritage this past Thursday.

The JV squad began the day with a 25-16, 25-19 victory on the strength of 11 kills, three digs, two aces and two blocks by Devlin. Johnson had four kills to go with four digs, an ace and an assist and Cramer had seven assists, three aces, three digs and two kills.

Tucker came up with three kills and a dig. Boulware had two assists, two digs, two kills and one ace and McClain served up

three aces to go with two digs and a kill.

Other standouts included Durham (4 digs, 1 assist), Johnson (7 digs, 1 kill) and Helton (3 digs).

In the varsity match, the Lady Mustangs moved to 10-2 overall with a 25-10, 25-22 win.

Cook led the offense with six kills while adding three aces, three blocks and a dig. Hudson had eight digs, five kills and four aces and Charland recorded four aces, five assists, three digs, three kills and one block.

Brackett’s night in- cluded three digs, two aces, two assists and two kills. Felipe had five assists, four digs and a kill. Chloe Day collected four kills and a dig, while Rawlston had three digs and an assist. Also contributi­ng were Moore with eight digs and Jones and Fleet with four digs each.
