Gordon Lee spikers maintain NGAC league lead

Gordon Lee began last week with a 25-7, 25-10 win over Rossville last Tuesday. Emoree Rogers had nine service points for the Lady Trojans. Ashlyn Boyd finished with seven and Mary Kate Roberts added six in the victory.

In the JV match, Gordon Lee claimed a 25-16, 25-22 win over the Lady Bulldogs. Meredith Jones had seven service points for the Lady Trojans, while Ashley Carroll served up six points.

Individual statistics for Rossville were not available as of press time.

The Lady Trojans maintained their onegame lead in the NGAC standings with a 25-10, 25-3 win at Chattanoog­a Valley this past Thursday.

Gordon Lee (11-1) won 17 of the first 18 points of the opening set on the serving of Rogers and Boyd.

Then in the second set, Rogers served the first nine points before the Lady Eagles finally got on the board. After a sideout, Boyd served up the next 15 points to put the Lady Trojans at match point.

Chattanoog­a Valley would win the next two before a final serving error gave Gordon Lee the match.

Boyd had nine aces on the night, while Rogers finished with eight to go with two kills and 12 assists. Jordan Dockery added three kills and Arilyn Lee finished with two kills.

Sydney Davis and Sara Taylor had five digs each for CVMS.

The junior varsity game was a back-andforth battle that finally saw the Navy-andWhite pull out a 25-23, 23-25, 15-9 win.

Alex Finch had nine kills for Gordon Lee. Makayden Martin had 10 assists and Lauren Oliver recorded six aces and four kills.

Annabel Hill had two kills and an ace for CVMS. Asia Silmon had two digs and Bailey Fowler finished with an ace.

Lady Eagles fall to Heritage

Last Tuesday, Chattanoog­a Valley suffered a sweep at the hands of the Lady Generals. The varsity lost 25-13, 25-10, while the JV team was beaten, 25-16, 25-8.

Maddie York had three aces for the varsity Lady Eagles. Fowler had two aces. Lexi Phillips collected one kill, while Abby Taylor and Sara Taylor had one ace apiece.

Hill had two aces and a kill in the JV match, while Madison Lennon had two digs.
