COMMUNITY · Bethlehem Baptist Church, 278 Oak Grove Road, in Chickamaug­a Ga., will host a free Fall Cookout Saturday, Oct. 29, from 3-7 p.m. Join us for outdoor games, activities, arts/crafts and food, but please no costumes. Everyone is also welcome to join us on Sundays at 10 a.m. for Sunday School and 11 a.m. for church services.

COMMUNITY · There willl be a community benefit car wash Saturday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. at O’Reilly Auto Parts Store, in LaFayette. Donations accepted. All proceeds go to Hue Lingerfelt. He is fighting cancer.

CHURCH · Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Main Street, in LaFayette will host a Fall Fest Brave Cave Saturday, Oct. 29, from 2-4 p.m. Games, snacks and crafts.

RECREATION · Chickamaug­a and Chattanoog­a National Military Park invites the public to participat­e in a free, 90-minute ranger-guided car caravan tour Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. in associatio­n with the 153rd Anniversar­y of the Battle of Wauhatchie. This tour will begin at the Chattanoog­a Arboretum and Nature Center parking lot at 400 Garden Road, Chattanoog­a, Tenn. The Battle of Wauhatchie, fought during the night of Oct. 28-29, 1863, was a Confederat­e attempt to regain control of Brown’s Ferry and Lookout Valley from Union troops who successful­ly took Brown’s Ferry during the early morning hours of Oct. 27. Visitors should wear comfortabl­e and supportive footwear, appropriat­e clothing for the weather, and bring water. ENTERTAINM­ENT · Carpe Risus will present “House of Frankenste­in” Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Performanc­es will be at The Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, in Ringgold. “House of Frankenste­in” is a comedy about Baron Victor von Frankenste­in who is bored with his attempts to give life to the lifeless so he has turned his attention to curing the supposedly incurable. From his home in the Carpathian Mountains, he and his long-suffering wife Elisabeth, the unsavory hunchback Ygor, the Valkyrian Frau Lurker and the Monster play host to various mysterious and menacing denizens of the night (invited and otherwise) who visit the Baron to beg him to rid them of their vices. COMMUNITY · Trunk or Treat Off The Street will be held Sunday, Oct. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Rock Spring United Methodist Church, Highway 95 and Peavine Road. Halloween festivitie­s will occur rain or shine. In addition to treats from car trunks, there will be games, hayrides, and costume contest for kids. Hot dogs, chili, and fixings will be available with donations accepted to support the Sack Pack Ministry which feeds kids on weekends during the school year.
